the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is the Mantra of the Great Lord Shiva.

Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urva-rukamiva Bhandhanaat
Mrityor mukshiya mamritat
Japa is the Chanting of this Powerful Mantra.
The meaning of the Mantra is interpreted
differently by different understandings,
though all interpretations imply the same
meaning.

Traya - Meaning Three
Ambaka-Meaning Eye
Ambaa-Means Mother
Yajamaana-meaning Sacrificier ( close to the meaning of Lord , Master, King)
Translation of the First Line.
Lord Shiva who has three eyes or is the master of three world.
The three worlds being Sthula(Solid) Jagat, Suksma(atomic,
minute)Jagat,and Karan Jagath.These three world can be also
described as the world where we live in now, second is the world
where we go to when we die and third is the world where Yogis
go to in deep Samadhi.
If we consider Ambaa as Mother we can thing of the first line as
Lord Shiva taking care of all three worlds with the love of a Mother.

Phusti-Nourish
Vardhanam-Increase
Shiva who is full of fragrance and Nourishes us.

Urva -Meaning cucumber
Urvaaruka-Melon
Bhandhana-Means Bind,Bond
The Line means as a ripe fruit is cut loose from
the tree ,so also let me be free from the Bonds holding
me to this Plane.
Trasnlation of Fourth Line.
Mrityor-Death
Mokshiya-Liberation
Ma-aMritat-not from immortality
Meaning freedom from the cycle of Life and Death
and becoming immortal.
The Japa of this Mantra is known to heal people
from incurable diseases.Health,wealth,prosperity
and lasting happiness is bestowed on the chanter
of this Mantra.Its has the power to give Life.
