Betaal is the Powerful Spirit possessing the corpse in the
story series Vikram Betaal.In Mythology a Vetaal
Vetal or Betaal is a Vampire . Some sources put the
Betaal to be a Half Human Half Bat Powerful Being.
In the Ramayana there are depictions of Battles
with Vetaals .The tales of Vikram Betaal made
the Betaal really famous.Watching it on TV was such a
great fun filled event.

The Story is that the Great King Vikramaditya has to get
a corpse from a Tree possessed with the Betaal .The
Powerful and extremely wise Betaal while on the Kings Back
Narrates him a story with a tricky question at the end and a
warning , that if the King answers wrongly the Betaal will
Kill Him, but the King answers correctly every time.
