The Movie Phoonk was a Fantastic depiction of
Kala-Jadu or Black Magic in action. My
understanding is that Kala Jadu in its most
basic forms ,works in the same way as any
Spiritual practice , but with diabolic intent.
A Mantra works by acting on the various
petals of each Chakra in the Human Energy
Body.Each Petal on the Chakras have a Sanskrit
Alphabet on them.Chanting a Mantra makes the
Petals spread across various Chakras vibrate in
a particular pattern,hence ultimately producing
the desired result.Now there would be Mantras
that are used solely for the Dark Arts or Kala Jadu.

Now maybe these Mantras call on a Demonic Spirit
from the Astral Plane who will act out the Magician's
orders.

there a Finnish man swims in freezing ice cold
water.When asked he had said that he was taught
a Yogic Ritual called Bowl of Fire by Indian
Yogis which helps him tolerate extreme cold.

Now techniques similar to healing can be diverted
to ill intent.

Harm him.
